We are honored to represent the estate of legendary Japanese Cape Codder and writer Yoko Kawashima Watkins. Her extensive collection of kimono, ceramics, lacquers, and all manner of Japanese crafts and gifts is so big we don’t have space to store it all, so we’re having a sale! Hundreds of affordable and unique items will be part of our courtyard sale, with her more precious items shown inside the gallery. Everything in the shop (except for works by contemporary artists) will be on sale that weekend, so come on by (bring cash for the yard sale) for tasty refreshments and fun shopping. SARAH CHAPMAN CERAMICS

“SUMMER OF SARAH”

July 23, 2025

Sarah Chapman's incredible ceramics have been with us since day one. But late last summer, her creative trajectory took a massive turn. She started producing work on a whole new level of refinement, risk, and elegance that feels so different from her earlier charming and whimsical pieces. Perhaps reflective of a changing world, new sculptures appear to have come from a dark watery abyss, or even the cosmos. Functional works like obsidian-toned tea bowls add gravitas to the mundane experience of consuming a daily beverage.
